Abstract

Introduction: Lifestyle is a comprehensive set of behaviors
that each individual has in their daily lives, constituting
conditioning factors of individual and collective health
Objective: Characterize the lifestyles that university
students present upon returning from virtuality to in-person
presence.
Materials and methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive and
observational study. The lifestyle of the university students
was determined by applying the validated FANTASTIC
questionnaire, which consists of 25 questions that investigate 9 physical, psychological and social components or dimensions. The information was collected through the use of a structured online questionnaire created in Google Forms.

Results: The research sample consisted of 3,110 men and
2,048 women, representing 60.3% and 39.7% respectively. It
was evident that the highest percentage of those investigated sometimes eat a balanced diet (55.9%). Regarding physical activity, they stated that they almost always walk, climb stairs and/or do housework (52.6%), however, they expressed exercising less than once a week (50.5%). In reference to toxic habits, they reported that they consume alcohol occasionally (96.3%) and have not used tobacco in the last 5 years (78.2%).
Conclusions: The lifestyle of university students upon
returning from virtuality to face-to-face fluctuates between
average and good, which is why it is recommended to
promote healthy habits in the educational field, such as
promoting a healthy diet, increasing physical activity and
decreasing of tobacco and alcohol consumption
